An exciting new website dedicated to bringing the women of the Europe the best choice of quality belts and inspiration on how to wear them to look fabulous, has gone live at onceuponabelt.com. The strap line “It started with a belt…” came about because with women's belts this gorgeous you will now be picking out clothes to wear with your belt and not vice versa. That’s what Marta Eleniak found when she was doing her research. She’s had a great response to the collection, bringing out a love of belts women didn’t know they had, as you just don’t see these types of belts readily in shops.

A belt is a great purchase, even when you are faced with trying to save money. Instead of buying new clothes a good quality belt in a stunning design will breathe life into an existing wardrobe. Not only that it will give an overall more sophisticated appearance. Fashion purchasing during a recession indicates that a lot of girls want to look more professional at work to be taken seriously. Simply adding the right belt to a white shirt for example can work wonders. Some belts can also enhance or hide one’s curves – advice on all this can be found in the ‘Inspire me’ section of the website.

Marta started the business because she was fed up with not being able to find good quality women's belts in the High Street. She’d come home with no belt but sore feet and umbridge that what belts she could seek out all seemed to be aimed at 13 year old girls! A typical belt she could never find was a good quality one suitable for a smart work skirt to replace the one that came free but soon broke. She believes it’s worth paying more for accessories as they are a wardrobe investment you can wear with many items and often last a lifetime. “A cheap belt will cheapen an outfit – why do it?” asks Marta. Having been invited in as a guest to be interviewed, she recently won the hearts and minds of a group of PR students at Bournemouth University. They were previously happy with a £3 belt but now hungered to experience the suppleness of leather you can’t help but stroke that Marta describes.

Web visitors are invited to sign up for a monthly fix of fashion story inspiration by email. On the site there is a huge range, everything from obi tie belts or elasticated waist cinchers to belts that make a little black dress divine. Marta, the founder and buyer, has a penchant for belts that ooze quality and have interesting fastenings – striving to be unique and stylish. There’s a few cheaper women's belts where the design was so delicious she could not resist and it makes the non-leather choice so much more interesting for vegans. Many of the belts are exclusive to onceuponabelt.com in the UK or made purely for OUAB by manufacturers who make belts for the big Italian designer brands. Hurry to the new website because not all these stunning styles are repeatable.
